Importance of vegetables

Amaranth Leaves(Thotakura):

  • This leafy vegetable is full of excellent nutritious contents and qualities.
  • Regular use of amaranth  in our food items prevents the deficiencies of vitamin A, B1, B2 and C, calcium, iron and potassium.
  • It protects against several disorders such as defective vision, respiratory infections, recurrent colds.
  • The vitamin A content of amaranth is useful for eyes. It cures eye diseases. Raw juice of amaranth , if taken for a few days, checks the falling of hair and helps the growth of new hair.
  • The regular use of amaranth is useful in preventing premature old age. It prevents the distrubance of calcium and iron metabolism which usually occurs in old age.
  • We can make different varieties like thotakura  with Dal, thotakura pulusu, Thotakura vada.

  • Coriander leaves are fragrant, appetizing, digestive, cool and good for vision.
  • It is a rich source of iron and vitamin A
  • It gives a special flavour to the food and makes it easily digestible
  • can make a chutney
  • Its juice is good for gas problem  and indigestion.
