Tamarind Rasam (Chinta pandu Charu)

Dry Red chillies - 3 
Tamarind lemon size
Coriander Seeds - 2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Jaggery - small piece
Salt to taste
Oil  - 11/2 tsp
Curry leaves


  • Heat oil in kadai fry red chillies, curry leaves for 1 minute
  • Add coriander seeds, Cumin Seeds and fry for two minutes
  • Add Tamarind, Jaggery, Salt and 1 litre water
  • Boil them till it becomes half
  • Strain the rasam.
  • Serve directly or with rice
Note: Drink this rasam in the early morning for free motion. And also take this rasam with rice when suffering with fever.
