Tomato Rasam

Tomatoes - 6-8
Onion - 1
Pepper - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Jaggary - small piece
Ghee - 1tsp
Menthi seeds, mustard seeds, cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Coriander and Cumin powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp


  • Boil chopped onions, tomatoes and pepper till they are tender.
  • Cool and grind the above to fine paste.Keep aside the boiled water.
  • Heat ghee in kadai add menthi seeds, cumin seeds, mustard seeds and curry leaves
  • When mustard seeds crackles add tomato paste, required water(add boiled water) and other spices.
  • Boil them for ten minutes and finally add coriander leaves and remove from fire.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice.
