30 Things to do for Good Health

1.  Drink  a glass of water after the morning calls every day. If there is no proper bowel movement, drink a glassful of hot water before going to the bed the previous night and a glass of hot water as soon as after washing face in the morning. Do this daily and you will soon begin to have proper motions.
  

  • 2.Take milk, butter and ghee in moderation. 

  • 3.Try to avoid non vegetarian food.

  • 4.Daily take seasonal fruits and fresh vegetables.

 5.Eat more and more grains and pulses of round variety, (ragi, maize, bajra, etc.,).

6.Avoid eating polished rice and maida.

7.Eat germinated pulses like Bengal gram, peas, horse gram, green gram, wheat etc.,

8.Don't simultaneously eat food of contrasting effects or taste, e.g., milk and butter milk, sweet fruits and sour fruits, bitter food and sour food, etc.,

9.Avoid eating bakery foods, fried and masala foods, etc., 

10.Avoid canned foods, cold drinks, pickles, frozen or cold storage foods. 

11.Minimize the intake of condiments and spices. 

12.Completely avoid tobacco and alcoholism, limit the intake of coffee, tea. 

13.Avoid sleeping pills, nerve soothing pills, pain killers . 

14.Eat only when you are hungry. But do not drink water when you are hungry nor eat solid food when you are thirsty lest it should end in digestive  disorders, obesity and the possibility of cancer. 

15.Reduce the intake of salt and sugar in your food. 

16.Always chew your food well. Don't be in a hurry. 

17.Do not eat immediately after hard labour and when you are tired. 

 18.Do not drink water during meals if need take little sip. Practice drinking water half an hour before and after meals. Drink 7-8 glasses of water every day. 

19. Do not skip breakfast. Have your break fast before you start your daily chores of work. If you fail to take your breakfast, the required and essential quantity of sugar in the blood will get reduced resulting in tiresome feeling, exhaustion, nervous weakness, head ache, stomach troubles,etc., 

20. Do not eat between meals. 

21. Fasting twice in a month is good for health. Eat fruits during fasting. 

22. Do not withhold or fail to answer nature calls (Urination or motion). 

23. Always inhale fresh air. Let your bed room have free movement of fresh air. 

24. Practice deep breathing through the nose several times (Pranayama) 

25. Have regular exercises every day and long walks. 

26. Roam in the sun (early morning) as long as possible. Sun bath is good for health. 

27. Enjoy an undisturbed sleep during nights. 

28. It is good to have your feet in a slightly elevated position when you sleep. Have a pillow below the legs. This will facilitate easy flow of venous blood back to the heart and lungs and also mitigate the ill effects of varicose veins. do not sleep flat on the back. Sleep on one side. 

29. Never sleep with your head in the northern direction. East or south is best. 

30. See that you have sufficient rest during the days at regular intervals.
