Ingredients:
Kanda (Yam) - 250 gms
Red chillies - 25 gms
Tamarind - small lemon size
Salt to taste
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Garlic cloves - 5-6
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Oil - 2 tbsp
Method:
Kanda (Yam) - 250 gms

Oil - 2 tbsp
Method:
- Boil, peel and mash yam and keep aside.
- Fry red chillies in little oil.
- Grind red chillies, tamarind, salt and turmeric, cumin seeds and garlic to fine paste.
- Add mashed yam and grind once.
- Transfer to bowl.
- Heat oil in a pan, add urad dal, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Fry till mustard crackles.
- Pour this over chutney.
- Serve with rice.
