Savoury Flattened Rice (Atukulu)

Ingredients:
Flattened Rice - 500 gms
Roasted Channa dal - 10 gms
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Dry ginger powder - 1/4 tsp
Green chillies - 5-6
Salt to taste
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Oil for frying

Method:

  • Dry roast flattened rice for 2-3 minutes.
  • Heat 2 tbsp of oil, add Asafoetida, dry ginger, mustard seeds, chopped green chillies, roasted channa dal, salt and turmeric. Fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Switch off the flame then add flattened rice and toss well.
  • Serve.
