Tomato Sauce

Ingredients:
Tomato Juice - 10 cups (approximately 2 kg of tomatoes)
Onions - 2
Garlic pods - 2
Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/4 cup
Vinegar - 1/2 cup
Sodium Benzoate - 1 tsp

For Powder:
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Cardamom - 6
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon - 1/2" stick
Pepper - 10

Method:

  • Powder the masala ingredients.
  • Coarsely grind onions and garlic cloves.
  • Now tie onion paste and powder in muslin cloth.
  • Strain the seeds from tomato juice.
  • In a vessel. pour tomato juice and drop tied cloth into it. Cook till it becomes little thick.
  • Add sugar, salt and vinegar and cook another 15 minutes in low flame.
  • Remove from fire and take out the tied cloth. Add sodium benzoate  and mix well.
  • Cool and transfer to dry jar.
