Oat Crisp

Quick Cooking rolled oats - 100 gms
Butter - 40 gms
Brown sugar - 50 gm


  • Melt butter in a pan over a very low flame.
  • Add sugar and oats and mix well.
  • Spread mixture lightly over a flat baking tin, but do not press down.
  • Bake in a moderate oven, 170 c for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Toss mixture with fork occasionally during cooking.
  • Remove from oven and leave it to cool, stirring time to time to form into crumbs. 
  • When quite cold use it or store in dry jar.
  • Excellent to sprinkle over fruit salads or topping for trifles.
