Lavanga lathika

Maida - 500 gm
Coconut - 1
Kova - 500 gm
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 1 kg
Oil for frying
Cloves - few


  • Grate the coconut and fry them in low flame till aroma comes. Then add mashed kova and cook till it thickens in low flame.
  • In a bowl, put maida, ghee and sufficient water to make dough.
  • Divide them into equal small portions. 
  • Press them like poori's and put kova mixture in the middle and cover it like squares then pin it with clove.
  • Do the same process for remaining portions.
  • Deep fry them till golden and keep aside.
  • Boil sugar with little water to make syrup with one string consistency.
  • Soak fried lathikas in sugar syrup for 30 minutes.
  • Serve
