Rice rawa - 500 gms
Lemons - 4
Oil- 100 gms
Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tbsp
Channa dal - 1 tbsp
Asafoetida - small piece
Salt to taste
Turmeric -  1/4 tsp
Red chillies - 4
Green chillies - 4
Ginger - 1 tsp (grated)
Curry leaves - few


  • Boil one litre of water in vessel. Add 1 tbsp of oil and rice rawa.Mix  without lumps and  Cook in low flame for 5 minutes or until done.
  • Remove and transfer to large plate.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add broken red chillies, urad dal, channa dal, asafoetida, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Fry till mustard crackles.
  • Add chopped green chillies and ginger. Remove and pour this over rawa.
  • Add salt, lemon juice, turmeric to the rawa mixture.
  • Mix gently and serve.
