SWEET AND SOUR ONIONS

Ingredients:
Small onions - 450 gms
Olive oil - 2 tbsp
Cloves - 2
Bay leaf - 1
Salt
Vinegar - 2 tbsp
Sugar - 1 tbsp

Method:

  • Put the unpeeled onions into boiling water, and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Peel them, and put into a pan with olive oil, cloves, bay leaf and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add the vinegar and sugar, and cook until the sauce is syrupy.
  • These onions may be served hot or cold.
