Softened butter- 3/4 cup
Granulated sugar-1/2 cup
Ground almonds- 3/4 cup
All-purpose flour-13/4 cup
Light cream-1/4 cup
Cold water-2tbsp


  • Place butter, sugar and almonds in bowl;cream together.
  • Add flour and incorporate with pastry blender.
  • Pour in cream and pinch dough with fingers.
  • Add water, incorporate and shape dough into ball.
  • Cover with waxed paper and refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F(180 C).
  • Place dough on floured surface and roll until about 1/4 inch(0.65 cm) thick.
  • Dust with more flour is needed
  • Using assorted cookie cutters, forms shapes and place on buttered cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes
  • Cool cookies and wire racks
