BUTTERSCOTCH SHORTBREAD

Ingredients:
Margarine or Part butter- 1 cup
Granulated sugar- 1/4 cup
Brown sugar- 1/2 cup
Flour- 2 1/4 cups
Salt- 1 tsp

Method:

  • Heat oven to 300 C. Mix shortening and sugars thoroughly.
  • Measure the flour by dipping method or by sifting.
  • Mix flour and salt ; stir in. Mix thoroughly.
  • Roll out 1/4 thick on floured cloth-covered board.Cut into desired shapes.
  • Place on a ungreased baking sheet. Bake 20-25 min.
  • It makes about 7 1/2 dozen small cookies.
