Sesame oil/ Peanut oil - 2 cups
Dry red chilli powder - 3 tbsp
Sesame oil/ peanut oil - 5 tbsp


  • Mix chili powder with 5 tbsp of sesame oil or peanut oil.
  • Heat 2 cups of sesame oil or peanut oil in a wok til it smokes.
  • Place chilli paste in a bowl and pour over the hot oil, stirring well until colour turns dark red.
  • Cool and store in an airtight bottle.
