Butter - 50 gms
Apples - 900 gms (peeled, cored and sliced)
Castor sugar- 50 gms
Grated rind of half lemon
Calvados (Apple Brandy) - 2 tbsp


  • Melt the butter in a large sauce pan. Add the apples, sugar and lemon rind and cook for about 4 minutes, shaking the pan once or twice, until the apples begin to change colour.
  • Pour on the calvados, cook for another 2 minutes and serve at once.
