DALIA, OATMEAL KHICHIDI

Ingredients:
Dalia or broken wheat - 1 cup
Oatmeal - 1 cup
Moong dal - 1 cup
Onion- 1 (chopped)
Green chillies - 3-4
Carrot, beans, cabbage - 1 cup (finely chopped)
Spinach - 5-6 leaves (chopped)
Salt to taste
Oil- 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp


Method:

  • Wash and soak moong dal for 30 minutes
  • Heat oil in kadai, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds
  • Add onions, chillies and other vegetables and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add moong dal and cook in flame for 5 minutes.
  • Add 3 cups of water and salt and brings to boil till dal becomes tender,
  • Add dalia and oatmeal and mix well.
  • Close the lid and cook till the water evaporates.
  • Serve hot
