CURD IN KHICHIDI

Ingredients:
Rice -  1 cup
Moong dal -1/2 cup
Whipped curd - 1 cup
Ginger - 1 tsp (finely chopped)
Cumin seeds  - 1 tsp
Salt to taste 
Oil or ghee - 2 tsp
Water - 5 cups
Curry leaves


Method: 

  • Wash and soak rice and dal for 15 minutes
  • Heat the oil in pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, ginger, curry leaves and fry for 1 minute.
  • Add rice and moong dal and fry for 1 minute in high flame.
  • Add water and salt, close the lid and cook upto 3 whistles.
  • Cool and remove the lid and add whipped curd and close again the lid for 5 minutes.
  • Open the lid and mix gently.
  • Serve immediately with chutney or plain.
