ROSE PETALS CHUTNEY

Ingredients:
Rose petals - 2 cups
Sesame seeds - 1/2 cup
Urad dal - 2 tbsp
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Tamarind - big lemon size
Red chillies - 14-15
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp

Method:

  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil, fry red chillies, sesame seeds,rose petals, coriander seeds and cumin seeds till aroma comes.
  • Cool and grind fried ingredients along with tamarind, jaggery, salt and turmeric to make chutney.
  • Heat remaining 1 tbsp of oil, fry urad dal and mustard seeds until mustard crackles.
  • Pour this over chutney.
  • Serve with rice.
