Ingredients:
All purpose flour - 2 cups
Strong hot coffee - 1/2 cup
Cocoa - 1/3 cup
Butter - 1/2 cup
Brown sugar - 1 cup
Granulated sugar - 1 cup
Egg yolks - 3
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Sour cream - 1/2 cup
Egg whites - 3 (beaten stiffly)
Cream cheese frosting - 2 batches
For Cream Cheese Frosting:
Cream cheese - 75 gms, softened
Butter - 2 tbsp
Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
Confectioner's Sugar - 1 3/4 cup
Method:

For Cream Cheese Frosting:
Cream cheese - 75 gms, softened

Method:
- gradually add coffee to cocoa, stirring constantly; let stand until cool.
- Cream butter and sugars until light fluffy.
- Add egg yolks; beat until batter is thick.
- Add coffee and cocoa mixture.
- Dissolve soda in cream. Add alternatively to sugar mixture with flour; beat well after each addition.
- Fold in egg whites. Pour batter into 2 well greased and floured 9" cake pans.
- Bake in 350F for 35 to 40 minutes or until done. Remove from pans; cool.
- Prepare frosting as directed. Spread between cake layers; stick layers.
- Spread over sides and top of the cake.
- Serve.
How to make Cream cheese Frosting:
- Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla until smooth. Gradually add sugar, beat until fluffy. Yield 1 cup.
