Ingredients:
All purpose flour - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/4 cup (powdered)
Baking powder - 4 tsp
Salt - 3/4 tsp
Yellow corn meal - 1 cup
Eggs - 2
Milk - 1 cup
Soft shortening - 1/4 cup
Method:
All purpose flour - 1 cup

Method:
- Sift flour with sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in corn meal.
- Add eggs, milk, and shortening. Beat with electric beater till just smooth, about one minute.
- Spoon batter into greased corn stick pans, filling 2/3 full.
- Bake at 425 for 12 -15 minutes.
