Ingredients:
All purpose flour - 2 cups
Whole wheat flour - 1/2 cup
Sugar substitute - 1-2 tsp
Baking powder - 2 tsp
Rosemary - 1 tsp (crushed)
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Thyme - 1 tsp
Oregano- 1 tsp
Butter- 1/4 cup
Egg- 1
Buttermilk- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp
Method:
All purpose flour - 2 cups
Whole wheat flour - 1/2 cup
Sugar substitute - 1-2 tsp
Baking powder - 2 tsp
Rosemary - 1 tsp (crushed)
Baking soda - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp
Thyme - 1 tsp
Oregano- 1 tsp
Butter- 1/4 cup
Egg- 1
Buttermilk- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp
Method:
- Preheat oven to 400* Celsius. Combine first 9 ingredients in bowl.
- Cut the butter into small pieces and work into flour mixture with food processor until blended.
- In a separate bowl beat egg with buttermilk and stir into mixture.
- Turn dough out on a floured board and knead for 2 minutes.
- Shape into 2 thick circles,5 inches in diameter.
- Cut each into quarters and place on lightly greased baking sheet with wedges about 1/2 inch apart.
- Brush with reserved egg white. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Serve warm.
