Large cabbage - 1

Large onion - 1

Fresh red chillies - 2-3

Large potato - 1 (diced)


Thick coconut milk - 2 cups mixed with pinch of turmeric and 2 tbsp prawn paste


  • Shred cabbage and onion into thin strands.
  • In a heavy sauce pan, simmer half the coconut milk (spiced) with the onion.
  • When the onion is soft, add the remaining coconut milk.
  • Add the diced potato and cabbage and simmer covered for 5 minutes.
  • Uncover and let bubble for a further 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Sprinkle either soy sauce or ground pepper and serve hot.
