Mokka Jonna Vadalu (Corn Vada)

Corn Kernels - 4
Urad dal - 4 tbsp
Salt to taste
Onions  - 4
Green Chillies - 8
Ginger - small piece
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Oil for frying


  • Soak urad dal for 1 hour.
  • Separate seeds from corn, add urad dal and grind them to make thick batter like garelu pindi.
  • Finely chop onions, green chillies and ginger. Add this to batter along with salt and cumin seeds.
  • Mix well.
  • Heat the oil in kadai, take lemon size batter and press it like vada with your wet hands.
  • Fry them till golden brown colour.
  • Serve hot with chutney.
