Cherry and Walnut Cookies

Ingredients:
Flour - 75 gm
Baking Powder - 34 tsp
Margarine - 40 gm
Soft brown sugar - 40 gm
Granulated sugar - 40 gm
Egg - 1
Vanilla essence -  few drops
Walnuts - 25 gm (chopped)
Glace Cherries - 25 gm (chopped)

Method:

  • Sieve the flour and baking powder.
  • Beat margarine and sugar together till smooth.
  • Stir in egg and vanilla essence.
  • Fold in the sieved flour, walnuts and cherries.
  • Place teaspoonfuls of mixture on greased baking sheets. 
  • Bake in the center of a moderate oven 180C for 10-12 minutes, until crisp and golden brown.
  • Remove and cool on a wire rack.
  • Store in airtight container.
