Teepi avakaya (Sweet Mango Pickle)

Ingredients:
Totapuri  Mangoes- 25
Sugar - 2 1/2 kg
Salt - 200 gms
Turmeric - 1 tbsp
Red chilli powder - 200 gm
Mustard powder - 200 gms
Fenugreek powder - 1 tbsp
Oil - 500 ml

Method:
  • Peel and cut mangoes into pieces. Add salt and turmeric and keep aside for 3 days.
  • On 3rd day Separate mango pieces from jar then keep mango pieces directly to sun for 3 hrs.
  • Then add red chilli powder, mustard powder, sugar, oil and mix well.
  • Cover with cloth and keep it on sunlight for 4 days.
  • Lastly add fenugreek powder and mix well. Add salt if necessary.
  • Transfer to dry jar.
  • Use it after 2 months.
