Telaga Pindi Kandi Pappu Kura

Telaga Pindi - 1 cup
Arhar dal - 1 cup
Oil- 2-3 tbsp
Red chillies - 3- 4
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida -  a pinch
Salt to taste


  • Wash and cook arhar dal till soft but grains are separate.
  • Boil 1 1/2 cups of of water in a vessel, when bubbles starts add salt and telaga pindi.
  • Cook in low flame , stirring continuously till dry. This one must be dry not in wet condition.
  • Place cooked pindi and dal in a big plate and crush if any lumps with hands.
  • Heat oil in kadai, add red chillies, cumin and mustard seeds, asafoetida. Fry till mustard crackles.
  • Add dal and pindi mixture, salt and fry in low flame for 10 minutes or till dry.
  • Serve with rice.
