Egg noodles - 1 packet
Chicken - 1 cup (cooked and shredded)
Carrots - 1 cup (cut into fine strips)
Onion - 1 (sliced)
Egg - 1 (slightly beaten)
Cabbage - 1/2 cup (shredded)
MSG - 1/4 tsp
Salt and Pepper to taste
Oil - 1 cup


  • Boil the noodles in salt water till tender then drain off. Pour the cold water and drain the water completely. Add little oil to the noodles and mix well so that they do not get sticky.
  • Heat oil in wok and brown the sliced onions. Add carrots, cabbage, chicken and seasoning and fry for one minute. Add the noodles and fry for 5 minutes.
  • Beat the egg  with little salt and pepper and make an omelette using little oil. Cut into strips and garnish.
  • Serve chow mein steaming hot, with chilli or tomato sauce.
