BREAD AND CHERRY PUDDING

Ingredients:
Bread slices - 6 (cut into cubes)
Milk - 1 litre
Eggs - 5
Sugar - 150 gms
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Nutmeg- 1/4 tsp
Cherries - 1/2 cup (chopped)

Method:

  • Blend milk, slightly beaten eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla essence.
  • Add bread cubes and mix well.
  • Pour into a buttered baking dish. Sprinkle nutmeg and chopped cherries on top.
  • Place dish in a pan of hot water and bake in oven at 200 C for one hour.
  • Insert a knife into the centre and check if the knife comes out clean, pudding is ready.
  • garnish with cherries and serve plain or with whipped cream.
